We’ve created one of the most successful girls’ education models in the world. It assists communities in creating their own programs to enroll and keep girls in school. We want to expand this program beyond Guinea, Mali, Ghana, El Salvador and Congo, where it was developed, to at least 10 additional countries in the next five years.
It’s not just girls who will benefit. AED currently manages more than $130 million in cutting-edge education projects in developing countries, working with ministries to improve access, governance and quality of educational systems, grades K-9, for boys and girls. With your contributions, we hope to bring these programs to five additional African and Latin American countries in the next three years.
Examples of what you can do:
A donation of $25 will provide basic education materials for one year for one child.
A donation of $100 will provide a year's school fee for a poor girl to attend school.
A donation of $200,000 will create a national model in a developing country to strengthen girls’ education at all levels, create curricula addressing HIV/AIDS prevention and develop community interventions.
A donation of $300,000 will enable us to dramatically improve instruction to create active learning opportunities and stimulating classroom experiences for thousands of girls and boys in countries where we work.
A donation of $500,000 will enable us to expand a global Internet portal using the latest information technology to improve educational opportunities for children in Africa and Latin America.
